It's been a great day so far, minor technical difficulties notwithstanding.

I finally finished typing my letter for Prison Pete. Jeez, that due can write. Just not well.

I started getting a strange message this morning. Whenever Outlook is open, I occasionally get a message saying that a program is trying to access my address book. I of course believeed this to be malicious, so I denied it access. Steve found a patch for me, so I installed it.

We will be heading to church in a while. Ash Wednesday is a great reminder of our Savior's sacrifice. I am really excited.

I hope everyone has a great day. Peace...

That should just tell you not to use Outlook.

Why cause it is warning you that another program is trying to send email out to your address book? I'd rather it warn me than not and just send stuff out.

I tried OpenOffice, but I did not like it. I dispise Wordperfect. So, I am using Word.

The comment left by "anon" is ludricous, and is mostly incoherant, so I will not respond to that.

Whether you like OpenOffice or not has nothing to do with the fact that you are using Outlook. Try Eudora or Mozilla mail or something. ;) Don't ignore the fact that most viruses are written to take advantage of vulnerabilities in Outlook and Outlook Express.

I guess I must have been mostly asleep when I made my previous comment.

When I said "Word" or "WordPerfect", I meant to say "Outlook" or the Corel Email program.

I have tried Mozilla Mail, but I found it to be the worst of anything I have ever used. I love the browser, and use it for everything except sites that are not compatible with it.

What I will never do is use inferior products just so that I can be a part of some group of radicals who don't like a particular company. I only use products that I prefer, regardless of who makes them.

I realize that most malicious code is written for Microsoft products; since Microsoft has about 95% market share, that only makes sense. To imply that a user is safe from attacks simply because he/she uses a particular brand of products is ludicrous, and borders on insane. This is why I employ numerous agents of defense, including, but not limited to, Norton, ad-aware, and Microsoft anti-virus (beta).

The problem I am experiencing is relatively minor, so I am not too worried about it. I think everyone needs to relax. Peace...

I'm not saying you'd be safe...just safer. There are still viruses out there that take advantage of Outlook that virus programs don't even detect. I'm just looking out for you. ;)
